Packet loss on Redhat AS 3 server ?

I have an interface on a Redhat AS 3 server that is showing packet
loss.

I have checked the switch (it a home run to a 6509) and there are no
errors on the switch.

I have performed a packet trace from the switch and the ping request
packets are leaving
the switch, when loss occurs it's the redhat end not responding.

Here is an ifconfig output, you can see that I have aliased 3 IP
addresses onto the
eth1 nic. I can see carrier incrementing on the eth1 interface.
