I have installed RHEL4 AS on an 64 bit AMD system. Installed the
64-bit version of RHEL4. Selected the MySQL package during
installation, but it is not possible to start MySQL. I have tried
service mysql(d) status/start/restart, but the service is not
recognized.
The start script is not found in /etc/init.d/ either. Rpm -qa mysql
tells mysql is installed.
I have tried this several times, but I can't get MySQL to work! Is
this a know problem?
Is mysql-server installed?
By the way: I have made equal installations with Fedora 2-5 (32 and 64 bit)
and it has always worked out of the box!
