I need help on how to resolve double python installation on my system. I
had problems with yum lately... it gave errors regarding python. That
lead me to force a new installation of python. Though that did not solve
the problem with yum, I now have a double installation of yum on my
system. I was able to solve the problem with yum by cleaning and rebuild
the cache.

Now, I keep on getting the following errors:

Reading repository metadata in from local files
*** glibc detected *** /usr/bin/python: double free or corruption
(!prev): 0x0a668b68 ***

Please any idea what line action to take?

Thanks!

Stan,

Can you give the output of rpm -q python?

yes! here is the ouput of rpm -q python:

python-2.4.3-8.FC5

This is to correct my initial statement:

I have double installation of python and not yum as stated ealier.

Thanks!
Stan,

I do not see any double installation, based on this output.

Have you fixed anything?
