with Linux? It ships with Nero software for Windows - what Linux package
could I use?

Or, any other suggestions? I have a hundred or so LPs I want to rip.

I've been swearing to around to this for a while but have declaring myself lazy for years. I always thought I would get adapters to feed the "line in" socket on the sound card and use any of the dozen or so apps that will record "line in" to ..wav files. After that there are many others that convert wav to ogg or mp3. Certainly someone has a direct to ogg or mp3 program. I don't see any other place to start.

What have you tried that doesn't work?

The best monkey wrench Iraq could throw into the mix would be to formally
surrender. Then it could demand negotionation of surrender terms and the
release of all POWs.
