Actually all it has ceased doing is asking you if you want to make a boot floppy.
for a floppy
/sbin/mkbootdisk --device /floppy/drive 2.6.17-1.2142_FC4
[root@localhost tmp]# /sbin/mkbootdisk --device /dev/fd0
2.6.15-1.2054_FC5
Insert a disk in /dev/fd0. Any information on the disk will be lost.
Press <Enter> to continue or ^C to abort:
cp: writing `/tmp/mkbootdisk.EH2533/vmlinuz': No space left on device
cp: writing `/tmp/mkbootdisk.EH2533/initrd.img': No space left on
device
cat: write error: No space left on device
cat: write error: No space left on device
Any other suggestions?
Unfortunately I remember getting the message at one time but forget how I solved the problem. But I don't have a floppy drive on the new machine to try it and remember how.
You got it to boot and run or are you in rescue mode? Others have recommended using a "distribution on a disk" to get it running normally. Then there should be no problem.
