at yum's online repos, guess that way you're always getting the latest
version. But if you haven't got broadband it's not so good.
You can edit the yum base repo to look at the CD drive instaed of the
net. But yum doesn't know what's on each cd, you can use trial and error
to find your program, but if there are dependecies, it gets very messy.
If you have enough HD space you can copy all the rpms to the harddrive,
and point yum at that.
I reinstalled FC 5 again from scratch,
using the custom mode to opt out of
only the stuff that I wouldn't
conceivably ever need. Then I'll depend
on online sources for anything more in
the future.
