Wifi Setup Total Nightmare FC5 - Intel Pro4 2200BG

Running FC5, with KDE, fully updated with latest kernel, sorry cannot
give kernel details as I have had to switch to XP to get a network
connection 8-)

Got a generic centrino laptop running an Intel Pro4 2200BG Wireless
Card. Decided to try Fedora Core 5 on it, great distro, very easy to
use and set up, got MP3, DVD all the goodies running via the wonderful
fedorafaq site and was very impressed. However not very impressed with
the total lack of wireless support, in fact I am somewhat surprised by
the dearth of information re this issue, a 2200BG wireless card is not
exactly rare now is it? and it works fine on Suse 10.1 with some minor
tweaking.

Problems began when I attempted to get the Wireless set up. Found the
correct drivers from Intel, got the firmware installed via yum,
wireless card works fine ie it can see the wireless access point. I
then tried to config my connection with Wifi Radar, specifically set
up the WAP security access - no chance - Wifi Radar wants a driver, I
assumed the firmware would handle that??? and also if it has no driver
how come it can see my access point, read the ssid correctly and
attempt to connect. I assume it wants a specific WAP driver or
something.

I am totally lost now, I can only find the deeply inpenetrable Install
notes from the Intel Drivers and I have no idea what they are on about
re WAP, kernel rebuilds etc, been using Suse mainly for about 18
months but I am not a Linux expert, much less remotely qualified to
decipher instructions meant for development people. Also I have never
used Fedora before so this is all unfamiliar to me.

So anyway, got my card firmware installed and running, got it to see
the network, how the hell do I sort out WPA with Wifi Radar or
whatever. I would like to get this fixed as I really like FC5,
especially YUM - thats terrific.

Any help appreciated

TIA

Jonah
