I tried to install Samba on Redhat 9.0 today. I ended up finally finding
it on disc 6. Copied the file to desktop. Tried this;
rpm -i samba-2.2.7a-7.9.0.src.rpm

This command was issued after changind to /home/ron/.gnome desktop/

Returned this:

warning:samba-2.3.7a-7.9.0.src.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID
db42a60e
error: cannot create %sourcedir /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES

I was in the root, as SU.

Any ideas how to install SAMBA?

Just installing SAMBA seems to be a major undertaking...But it IS Linux,
of course.

Ok...now I figured out how to get Samba installed.
Next issue....I am using the Print Manager to configure the HP 1300
Laserjet printer I have....I can see that Linux "sees" the printer, since
when I select Windows SMB, it shows me the Windows computer, and the HP
printer connected to it...But I cannot get a test page to print. I am
using the postscript setting, which should work, but unfortunately, the
version of Samba I have does not list the HP 1300. I don't know what to
try next...I have spent about three days on this issue. I think that I am
out of ideas.
