Please pardon the n00b question, but I am struggling here and google
searches just aren't solving the problem. I have a laptop that I want
to install Fedora 6 on. It currently has two 80 gig hard drives, both
of which are 100% ntfs. All I want to do is chop about 30 gigs off the
back-half of the 2nd drive and install Fedora 6 so that so I can have a
dual boot machine. I have seen documentation on the use of the
'parted' command but it is not a lot of help, and lots of references to
using 'partition magic' to solve the issue.
Get a copy of Knoppix Live Linux CD/DVD and you will find a GUI version of
'parted' that should do the job.
You will want to make sure you have room on the drive and have defragged it
with XP to leave enought free clear space at the end of the drive.
Can I use the Fedora installer to safely re-size the "D" (sdb) drive
with out frying Windows XP. Or do I have to go get 'partition magic'
to do the re-size?
FC6 may but I doubt it AFAIK FC5 did not. Downloaded FC6 but I have not
tried it yet so I do not know.
Best of luck,
Aaron
