Fedora 6: what a waste of time!!!

It took me nearly all day to see a Fedora Core 6 installation through.
On a dual Xeon PC-DL the installation is painfully slow, hanging on
"detecting fedora core installations" for more than 10 minutes. Yes 10
minutes not seconds! I guess that it may be down to my hardware setup
with SATA drives only and no ATA/IDE.
When finally I got the first installation through, after the first
boot, it won't let me in from anywhere. Neither KDE, GNU, console
session, SSH. It was probably down to selinux.
On my second attempt at first boot I set Selinux permissive so I
managed to log in (finally).
10 minutes in, I sart openoffice write ... BANG !! System re-boots on
its own.
Tried again after re-boot, system frooze and had to hard reset.
WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!!
