How do I send a SIGHUP to ProFTPd who's PID is in '/var/run/run/proftpd.pid' ?
I simply use
pkill name-used-to-start-it
such as
pkill gftp
Sometimes it does not work and I have to drop to root to make it work.
There are certainly better ways but this is simplest.
