FC6 installation hangs; anaconda goes postal on the CPU

Anybody care to take a guess as to why anaconda hangs and goes into a CPU
hog state right after it identifies my NVIDIA FX5900 graphics card?

The
DVD and disk accesses momentarily...then a short modprobe
char-major-2...and then nothing.

I have plenty of memory, lots of disks, and two Xeon CPUs.

boot: text acpi=off nofloppy noselinux nomdraid

gets to a point where the log says it cannot find my floppy then tries
anyway, but it shouldn't do this based on my boot command line. Then I
get something in the log about zfcp and the system hangs. The
fedora-list wasn't much help. There has been an unanswered post on there
since last November where a guy noted the same problem and he didn't get
any responses to his inquiry.

This is the last line in the logfile

13:34:46 INFO : no /tmp/fcpconfig; not configuring zfcp

Even the debug and test options for anaconda from the boot command line
dont spit out any more information than normal.

I could install FC4, but FC5 and FC6 have this problem with my machine.
No sense in burning an FC7 disk if the problem is going to be perpetual.

Tyan 2668 mobo
2 Xeon
2048MB RAM
2 each ATA133 disks
2 each SATA drives
firewire DVD
IDE DVD
numerous USB ports

FC4 and XP currently installed. I cleaned a disk up just to install FC5
or FC6.
