Well, I did it without labeling for starters (I know how to edit fstab
properly), but I wanted to do it "the rihgt way" :)

There is no right way. The sign of a robust/mature OS or language is there are at least three ways to do anything. As long as you found a way that works for you that is all that matters.

And on this subject it has never made sense to me why linux distros tend to use LABEL for boot only. You would think if it were the "right" way every partition would have a label.
