I have fedora core 6 installed on two different systems, and IFred,
now receive the errors below on both when attempting to run yum from the command line. However, yumex is working OK.
My gut tells me yumex may have screwed up the repositories.
Has anyone else seem this issue? Any ideas how to fix?

Is the /etc/resolv.conf information still valid?
Maybe a network engineer has by accedent stopped a DNS server which you use to resolve the name of the repository servers.
Just a guess, happened to me sometimes with VM's when the named process stop due to an error in a zone file.
Gave same kind of error's when running yum.
Kind regards,
