Is there a command that allows you to get the IP of a winxp computer
on a linux.
For example, assume that a winxp and linux computer are on the same
network and the winxp computer has the hostname set to "computer1".
The command would give the IP address of the winxp computer when being
passed "computer1".
I am not 100% sure the 2 computers are on the same subnet, but it is
possible for them to ping each other if given the IPs. The problem is
that the winxp computer does not have a static IP.
Raphfrk,
I use dynamic DNS updates, so my DNS server gets it information updated
when the ip-address of the WINXP box changes.
It is not 100% tested, because the ip-address remains the at new lease.
My problem is that it is a work computer, so I can't do anything
fancy. I was hoping for something that I could include in a script.
I want to connect to the laptop's vnc server with just a simple
command.
