Kernel panic trying to PXE boot RH

Hello,

I am trying to PXE boot RHES ver 4. I am using the vmlinuz-2.6.9-22.EL
kernel found in an installation of RHES ver 4, and I am making the
initrd file preloading the module sk98lin, which is the driver for the
Marvell Yukon network chip through which I am trying to boot. (The
latest Marvell Yukon driver will not uncompress, and anyway I read
that it works only for kernels 2.6.20 and above, for earlier ones, I
should use the older sk98lin driver).

OK, the DHCP server assigns the IP address to the Yukon interface, I
do get the vmlinuz and initrd files through TFTP, so far so good. Then
I get Kernel Panic, without any obvious previous indications of
trouble. Here are the last two lines:

device-mapper: 4.4.0-ioctl (2005-01-12) initialised: dm-
devel@xxxxxxxxxx
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

Anybody knows what the problem could be?

Thank you,

Mark Galeck
