hi, this is my first post to this group
i`d like to say, great job everyone...
i`m from Egypt, i had a scholarship grant to study Linux, i completed
it , and i currently hold the LPI-101 certificate
this has very much got me to love Linux, although i use windows on a
daily basis at work
i very much love to continue my career in Linux , and i heard you can
take a RHCE exam...
i tried searching for material to study from online, but got
stonewalled.....
seems everything on RHCE is provided to an official trainee of the
program
so, this is my last resort...
can you guide me to where to look for a start in training here in
Egypt?
and , can i work with my LPI-101 , or do i need to take further
training?
last, is there an RHCE training center here in Egypt?
i thank you in advance ...
Seriously what Redhat? If you want to get into sysadmin work there are several flavors of linux as well as Microsoft abominations. You want a living wage and interesting work not brand loyalty. And the more different OSs you know the more you can command as a salary. So gee, just get your *** into what you have on your computer. Email your ISP and ask what they are looking for an if they are hiring. Offer to work for minimum wage to learn. Show them what you can do. Learn at least one language well and preferably two. Ask after networking issues.
It is not that hard to get started but these are not the early days. My son did the linux side of an early ISP in less than a week back in the good old days but back then all they had to do was be better bulletin boards calling home computers. Things have changed a bit since then. But while the basics are not that hard you cannot learn them at home so you need a talent to get a job to learn the rest.
I have nothing against RH and have used only RH after an abortive usage of Slack 3.0. But just learning the differences between two linux distros will give you a big leg up on learning all the rest of the distros.
Every employer loves an eager worker so be prepared to spend a lot of your own time learning and you will get all the extra work you want.
One way or another everything I just wrote is generic to any field you want to work in.
