RPM package conflict error. The message was:
Test install failed because of package conflicts:
installing package kernel-2.6.9-55.EL needs 17MB on the / filesystem
any idea why?
Because you don't have 17MB available on the filesystem. Error messages
are
wonderful things ... if a person can understand them.
More specific, the /lib/modules directory will be filled with kernel
modules. /lib is on your / filesystem.
You could try to remove some old kernels to create some space.
