Is it possible to resize an existing partition / or /bootYes.
I am trying to upgrade kernel and I believe /boot is out of space
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_25083-LogVol1
1008M 937M 20M 98% /
/dev/sda3 99M 66M 29M 70% /boot
Your belief obviously isn't based on reading the output of "df", which
clearly shows that / is out of space.
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_25083-LogVol5
117G 2.5G 109G 3% /usr
/dev/mapper/VolGroup_ID_25083-LogVolHome
114G 2.6G 106G 3% /home
Shrink /usr or /home and add the space to /. Easy to do with LVM.
