HI GUYS,

I AM TRYING TO CONNECT TO INTERNET FROM MY NEWLY INSTALLED LINUX
SYSTEM BUT IT IS NOT ABLE TO DETECT MY INTERNAL MODEM.

THE CD THAT CONTAINS DRIVER FOR MY MODEM IS FOR WINDOWS ONLY.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Please turn off your caps lock....on the net, it is considered
"yelling" when you use all caps.

Most internal modems on systems designed for Winders are not "real"
modems. They are emulated in software using proprietary drivers.

Depending upon the nature of the modem, you may find more information
here:

http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/

Depending upon various issues and if you really need the modem for
connectivity, you may be better off buying a cheap USB or PCMCIA
modem, which will then be 'real' hardware and easier to supprt.
