I have installed RHEL 4. I am not yet subsribed to the RHN so I
cannot yet use up2date.
I now realize that I forgot to install gcc during the GUI setup. So
I've copied all the RPMs from the disc and set them in a single
directory. As I attempt to 'rpm -ivh gcc-3.4.3-9.EL4.i386.rpm', RPM
complains about a few missing dependencies. I then try to install
those, and RPM complains about yet more dependencies.
Those needed packages are actually all locally copied to the same
folder, and so I was wondering if it is possible to have RPM locally
check if there are any local packages that satisfy the needed
dependencies.
