is there any option in yum.conf to make the system just download and
download the updates in /mnt/updates ?
What do you have there? /mnt is a place for mounting things. There should be no
internal data files there. For a plain vanilla install there should be nothing
in /mnt. It is just a traditional directory while FC7 and 4 and 6 use /media for
removable drives and cards.
