FC7 YUM Update problem?

Yesterday, YUM mysteriously stopped working on two different FC7
installations. When I start either the software updater tool or the
"Add/Remove" tool from the GUI, I get a brief message stating that its
starting, and then nothing ever happens. I tried to use the yum
extender on one system, and it seems to be sitting there trying to
access a series of mirrors and constantly getting "Metadata file does
not match checksum" failures. Are the FC7 repos offline or corrupt? I
don't seem to have this problem with my FC6 systems.....

Has anyone else seen this? I'm about ready to ditch FC7 and go back
to FC6 on these units.......
