Idea's please.
I'm running Fedora Core 6 on an Intel Box. 512 mb ram and a (2) WD 160 gb hd 933 processor. This is/ was a dual boot system. The second drive was windows xp. I think the windows drive died. The next day, I couldn't boot into Linux, it worked fine the day the windows drive quit. It comes up that I need to run fsck. Well that's no problem. Done it before and it worked as normally. I can now boot into Linux again and Linux works fine with the IDE windows cable off.
As I have found in other operating system it take allot more then once to repair all problems.
How can I get back to just the command prompt. To run fsck until it comes back with no errors?
When this problem first came up. I replaced the power supply and the mother board. Then all work right until 4 days ago. This was about 6 mouths ago and it came back hard this time.
I didn't say I' tring to get back to the command prompt from KDE. It restarts their windows on each exit.
Any help is appreciated.
Jesse
