printer for text in years but I sort of recall in the old days something
like
echo test lp0
worked. It wasn't exactly that I am sure. Just find some "test" that uses
all the jets and colors. One probably comes built into the printer. In
that case you would just issue the command that invokes once a week.
I have an Epson CX-5000 - any idea what that command would be?
No. Should be in the manual some place under test to see if it is working, i.e. you have it connected correctly. If not just use the cartridge alignment command followed by the command to stop trying to align them. That is the one where the black and the color -|- all cross at the same place.
I had a C60 or C80 or something like that. It has been sitting out of the way for a couple years now. Haven't had a need for it.
N.B., Epson cartridges die in six months even if unused. A gadget to reset
the clock is available.
What's the gadget?
Don't remember try google or maybe Amazon. I never did get one although I swore to a couple times before I realized I simply wasn't using the printer. It was about the price of one cartridge.

Bombing civilians is fun. Not one single rationale for doing it has ever
worked. Every time harm is inflicted on civilians they rally around their
government. They have never overthrown their government.
